Expanded Development

Pivoting based on the prevailing winds of change is an invaluable AcMo trait.  It is ingrained in our culture.  This allows us to develop diverse testing programs and create an expansive knowledge base that benefits our paying and even involuntary clients.  We don’t know when the next opportunity will present itself, but we are always ready for it when it arrives.

New testing platforms were delivered to us over the weekend.  Our acquisitions were delivered to us by the same random luck that creates most of our breakthroughs.  We are excited to announce our partnerships with both Hops and Slo Mo Flo Jo.  They have signed on for multiple enhancements.

We never ask new applicants to explain the motivating factors behind their decisions to join AcMo because they don’t speak our language.  Our work on a universal translator is ongoing, but advancements have been miniscule and sporadic.  I know why Slo wants in on the AcMo development program, but I haven’t deduced Hops’ motives.  Slo has never beaten Hops in a race in the 7 years they’ve been competing against each other.  Slo is just plain tired of losing.  I know the feeling.

Hops is the one we will have to monitor closely to make sure there aren’t any covert nefarious intentions involved.  It would be tragic for Hops if our proprietary technology were disseminated to the bunny population without our consent and without collecting a revenue stream from it.

I am not a taxonomist or a veterinarian, so I have no idea how to determine if Hops and Slo are male or female, which is why I do my best to refer to them without using descriptive pronouns.  I am waiting for research to get back to me with a definitive answer so we can solve this mystery.

We came across these two when we stumbled onto their race track.  That shouldn’t be surprising because we are always stumbling onto hot tracks across the country.  This time was different because we had no idea we were even at a track.  There weren’t any signs and there were no emergency personnel or corner workers present.  Their “track” would most certainly not pass the rigorous FIA certification process with the fallen limbs and bear traps everywhere.  Based on the dearth of low speed corners, we are certain Hops designed the course.

Hops in flight.
Hops is already fast, so we are focusing on fine-tuning his speed for better handling and responsiveness.  Our first step is to tweak his footpad spring rates to see if we can get a bit more energy out of every motion.  Hops shows impressive temporary flight skills, but I think we can improve hang time by at least 65%.  We will look into adding further enhancements as testing progresses and after we’ve had time to study Hops in the wind tunnel.

We’ve decided on using hybrid ramjets and wings (F-14 style) for Slo.  I can’t think of anyone or anything that wouldn’t jump at the opportunity to have F-14 wings.  We’re rigging Slo’s wings to work inversely so as he retreats into his shell the wings extend for increased theoretical flight control.

Slo has the heart of a competitor, but the speed of a turtle.

Pre-flight booster test.
Slo had never beaten Hops in a race before the pair arrived at AcMo.  Slo may even receive a new name by the time we have completed development.  I don’t want to jump too far ahead, but I see Olympic medals in Slo’s future.

Right now we just hope that the jets don’t cause Slo’s shell to crack or melt from the extreme heat.  We are testing gold foil on the shell near the jet exhausts, but we’re worried some rapper might mistake Slo for a gigantic gold trinket and make a necklace out of it.

This is a work in progress like every other AcMo project, so expect a lot of failures before these optimizations are market ready.  If you’re the betting type, don’t assume Hops can remain undefeated forever.  We may even combine this program with our Greyhound initiative we are developing for AcMo Transport & Logistics to take our development to the next level.  I hear that greyhounds and bunnies may not be the best workout partners though.
