Some people are only able to get out of bed in the morning because they know a new challenge awaits them. Those same people relish the thought of a challenge, the more difficult the better. I abhor challenges because the looming fear of failure weighs on me. I did not do myself or this organization any favors when I created the AcMo Automotive Concierge Program.
AcMo ACP was created to cater to the most discerning automotive clients in the market. We find the vehicles no one else can, and we find exactly what the customer desires. In rare cases, we modify the customer's desires to accommodate the vehicle we have acquired. This is a subtle reprogramming that takes a few minutes with the customer in the box.
I received a call after hours yesterday evening from a long time AcMo client. Now that I think about it, this client introduced me to Snob Duben. Perhaps I shouldn't trust him. That doesn't mean we won't take his money. The client was interested in purchasing a car he described as a purple unicorn. In typical fashion, he triple dog dared me to find his purple unicorn, which he agreed to purchase on the spot. He made this agreement because he had already tried and failed to find the car himself. He doesn't know about the special techniques we deploy here to locate vehicles, but he knows we get results.
Our special search algorithms differentiate us from every other car finding service on the Internet. We can find any vehicle quicker than anyone else, and we can beat almost all of our competitors on pricing. We are that good. When we can't beat the price, we put the competitor out of business and snatch their inventory for a discount.
Back to our VIP client. He wanted this car today--everything with him is right now, so I went to work on it last night even though we had powered down our systems for the evening. I sometimes do manual searches to keep my skills fresh, and to remember what it feels like to be in the trenches. Doing that always reminds me why I got out of the trenches in the first place. It is just too much work. My time is far better served by doing big picture tasks like keeping AcMo pointed in the right direction. Since I wasn't going to be able to bill the client for power consumption after hours, I kept the systems dark for the evening after locating a suitable vehicle using my phone. We are very careful with controlling our overhead since we never know when our revenue streams will disappear. Drought is a killer.
I thought I would activate our search program to find more vehicles as reserves in case the purple unicorn didn't work out this morning after the systems came back online. It seems that I wasn't the only individual seeking a purple unicorn. The primary vehicle disappeared from the database before I had sent the information to our client. The search program only found one other suitable vehicle, but it was priced higher than the approved budget. This is where AcMo's special abilities start to shine.
Whenever we have a disparity between a client's budget and the vehicle's sale price we utilize our patented budget revision program which allows me to condition the client to raise his budget to meet the price of the vehicle in question. This takes far less time and effort than trying to get the seller to reduce the vehicle's asking price, and I get a higher commission this way. Everyone wins when AcMo wins.
This particular case is going to take extra finesse because this long-term client has built a tolerance to our more subtle budget revision techniques. We may have to do something a bit unorthodox to win this battle.
There is a bright future for our concierge offerings. We are even thinking of expanding into other markets to offer luxury products that no one else can find to a much larger market. If anyone is interested in a sales position in this yet to be created division, please send us a note. We will probably say no, but it only hurts to ask if it is a dumb question.
