Power Move

Porsche added an additional 919 Hybrid LMP-1 prototype to their squad for the upcoming 2015 24 hours of Le Mans.  If two cars are good, then three give the manufacturer an even better chance at an overall victory, or at least of one car finishing the race.  The team has also upgraded their hybrid system’s capacity to 8 MJ for this season.  No manufacturer has been this ambitious with power systems before now.

We wanted to put our atom splitting super shears and a compact rail gun into an unused Audi R18 chassis, but that was before we learned that Porsche was jumping to an 8 MJ system.  This news changes everything for AcMo.  We want one of these prototypes to use for testing and it appears that Porsche might have at least one spare chassis and drivetrain.  We need it far more than Porsche.

A car that is powerful enough to generate its own weather system is essential to our arsenal.  This capability can render anyone following us at a distinct disadvantage.  We could also fix California’s drought with this car and a few hours running up and down the 5.

You know the situation is serious when your steering wheel has a "Kill" button.

The "Kill" button isn't as exciting as I thought, but we can fix that with some programming tweaks and armaments.
We wouldn’t have any incidents while operating client vehicles on track if we had this steering wheel.  That is the only reason we don’t win more DE events than we do now.  All of the power is channeled through this wheel.  It even has cool colors, buttons, and knobs.  I bet it does more than just steer the car.  I am hopeful this technological reinvention of the wheel will interface with our secret project’s CAN bus.  That would reduce development time a great deal.

I think with the proper tools and a couple of  crowbars—when surgical precision is required—we could fit  this powertrain into one of our AcMo Peregrineworks projects without much effort.  We wouldn’t even need all of that stuff connected to the front wheels because we don’t trust those wheels.  That frees up 8 MJ to be used to keep our music players charged during our trip.

The time to snag one of these vehicles will be right before the start of Le Mans.  Everyone will be preoccupied with the race and won’t notice us wheeling the car into our own transporter.  I think that is our best shot at procuring the equipment we need.  Expect to see AcMo personnel on site at this year’s 24 hours of Le Mans.  Maybe we’ll even get Snob Duben to build us a plastic 919 replica that we can use to swap for the real thing.  This feels like a solid plan coming together.  We all know solid plans can’t fail.
