Thought Process

Even though I can’t figure it out, I believe that there is an underlying and unbreakable logic that defines our world.  It is not possible to grasp that logic in every action, but it is omnipresent.  Logic, like so many other mental constructs, is based on perspective.  What seems logical to my mind might be construed as baffling to others who are mostly irrational.  Remember, when the whole world tells you that you are wrong, you’ve stumbled on to something great.  That comforting thought kept me from worrying about the floor dropping out from underneath me wherever I happened to be standing.  My comfort and sense of security was shattered by the actions of a malevolent duck one day.

During one of AcMo’s recruitment drives, I found myself perched high above a body of water.  My accommodations were private, well equipped, and provided multiple viewpoints from which I could study the environment and see approaching targets.  It was during a routine target sweep that I caught a duck approaching my location from the water.  The duck didn’t know I had seen it, and approached as if it was undetected.  I don’t know enough about ducks to be afraid of their capabilities, but something told me I needed to keep an eye on this duck.

I was of course right since I watched this duck do something curious moments after I spotted it.  I wish I could have asked and received a response to help me comprehend how it saw the world, but it was gone before I could parachute down to the beach.  I also don’t speak duck, so there might have been a communication issue to conquer.

Is this how Duck Stars are formed?

This duck strolled onto the beach, shook off some water, turned around, and then went straight back into the water in a span of about three seconds.  Why would it do that?  Even if it had taken on some bad water, three seconds couldn’t have been long enough to cleanse.  That wouldn’t even make sense since it went right back into the same water.  Ducks can be quite strange.

Had I known in advance the duck would behave in such an erratic manner I would have captured the entire event on video.  I almost missed taking the photograph because I don’t tend to pay much attention to ducks unless they are attacking.  The photo shows the duck as it is escaping back to the comfort of deeper waters, or whatever it was doing that day.

Perhaps this is why the famous cartoon character duck’s first name was Daffy.  Maybe my most important takeaway from this encounter is that cartoons are truth and I should be reading and studying more of those rather than trying to finish my Business 101 course work.  At least then I would have a better chance of understanding the material.
